Mark du Mas, President

Mark has served as president of The Paces Foundation since its inception in 1991.  His responsibilities include strategic planning, budgeting, market and site selection, securing equity and debt financing, and leading the team in all other development activities.  Mark actively serves on several boards, including Georgia Affordable Housing Corporation, Georgia State Trade Association of Non-Profit Developers, Catholic Housing Initiatives and Catholic Personal Care Homes.  He is also a mentor to the Historically Black Colleges and Universities Initiative, which is part of a peer-to-peer program sponsored by the Federal Home Loan Bank.  In his spare time, Mark teaches a philosophy class at Georgia Perimeter College.  Mark holds a Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the University of Georgia. 

Jon Toppen, CPA, Development Associate

Jon joined the Paces Foundation in September 2003 as a development associate.  He is a certified CPA in the State of Virginia and has five years of accounting experience.  As development associate, Jon’s principal duties include project management, financial analyses and securing financing.  He also assists with asset and construction management and manages the organization’s accounting processes, as well as many of its programs and internal operations. Jon enjoys exercising, backpacking, cooking, playing guitar, and spending time with his wife Jodi.  He holds a Master of City and Regional Planning from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Richmond.  

Teresa Faucette, Asset Manager

Teresa Faucette has 20 years experience in the residential property management industry.  She is a South Carolina licensed property manager and a CPM candidate.  Her prior employment was with Lane Management Corporation as a Senior Regional Property Manager and was responsible for part of the Atlanta and Florida regions encompassing 8,500 units.  Her ten-year employment with Lane Management Corporation provided many diverse opportunities including overseeing all the owned or partnership real estate as well as working with third-party management.  During Teresa's tenure with Lane, she worked with as many as nine third-party clients at one time.  She assisted with the development of a new construction and lease-up training class, development of a new due diligence process, and with the development of new policies and procedures.  Her extensive experience in property management includes new construction lease-up, rehab conventional, luxury, mid-rise, mixed-use, bond and tax credit.  Teresa has received many awards for her individual and team accomplishments, including the best regional NOI award.  Teresa prides herself with her "team building" abilities.

Sherryl Cousins, Consultant

While a new comer to the state of Georgia, Sherryl is by no means a new comer to the field of real estate and affordable housing.  As a real estate agent in the South Florida area, Sherryl was very committed to the mission to provide affordable housing.  While serving on the board of directors for the Affordable Housing Coalition, she also owned and operated a rental property investment company for over six years.  After moving to Georgia in June 2003, she became a licensed real estate agent and works with Perimeter-1 Realty in Atlanta.  Sherryl joined the Paces Foundation as a consultant in December 2004 to assist with locating land sufficient for building multifamily units of affordable housing.  As stated in her own words, “I truly enjoy the challenge and joy of working with the staff of Paces, while fulfilling my commitment to the very much needed cause of providing safe, secure, affordable housing”.
