Paces Foundation’s Mark Du Mas Featured in Fortune Magazine
“Enotah Village Apartments is a $6.7 million community in Appalachian north Georgia – located directly across the street from rapidly-growing 4-year liberal arts Young Harris College. Built in a HUD Difficult Development Area with soaring local land costs and strong demand, Enotah Village overcame long odds to become a highly-successful affordable housing community.
Enotah’s 60 well-appointed family rental units are situated on grounds offering community gardens, picnic and barbeque areas, a fitness center, and a computer lab. Residents can enjoy supportive services such as money management training, homeownership counseling, and health and wellness education, as well as organized social activities. Enotah shows how all communities can benefit from exceptional affordable housing developments.
Mark du Mas knows that the financial health of his nonprofit organization – the Paces Foundation – depends on the success of every development. And like so many nonprofits, Mark keeps his organization lean and relies heavily on a financial partner that provides a high level of support.
“When I run into obstacles, I don’t have to worry about my financial partner. I know SunAmerica will stand shoulder to shoulder with me. That’s tremendous.”
Through six developments, SunAmerica and Paces have overcome NIMBYism and complicated local restrictions to bring much needed housing to underserved communities. At every step SunAmerica was there, providing valuable counsel and solutions.
“When I have a question, SunAmerica has the pool of experts to provide credible answers. They have the resources to support me through whatever unique challenges I’m facing.”
At SunAmerica, we know that creating quality affordable housing can be complicated. That’s why every ‘yes’ from SunAmerica comes with a commitment to offer the support and solutions that ensure success.”- Fortune Magazine
