Mark du Mas President

Founding Member and President of Paces since 1991, Mark has overseen the growth and expansion of Paces to nearly 2000 LIHTC units in four states.  With a MA degree in Philosophy from University of Georgia, Mark has kept active in socially responsible activities since the 1970’s.  This includes teaching philosophy part time at Georgia Perimeter College; Director and Officer of The American Philosophical Practioners Association; Chairman of Georgia Affordable Housing Corporation a CDFI lending institution; guest lecturer for the Georgia Association of Certified Public Accountants, Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the Federal Home Loan Bank.  Mark enjoys traveling, skiing and motorcycles.

Breck Kean Development Associate

Breck serves as Paces Chief Operating Officer. Breck has 25 years of diverse real estate experience encompassing development, asset management, equity and debt financing, market analysis and valuation. Breck has accumulated extensive and current knowledge of federal, state and local affordable housing/ adjustive reuse policies and has successfully developed and financed over 3,800 units of affordable and mixed-income housing units with a total value exceeding $300 million.

A Native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana he received his undergraduate degree in business/finance from Louisiana State University and received his Masters Degree in Business Administration, Majoring in Finance/Real Estate from the University of Texas at Austin. Breck has memberships with Urban Land Institute, The Nature Conservancy, and Southface Energy.

Paul Cables Asset Manager

Paul has been with The Paces Foundation since September 2009 prior to having served on the Paces Board of Directors for 11 years. His duties include the asset management of 16 Paces communities while interacting with various debt, equity and community partners. He has 22 years of experience in commercial, retail and multifamily management, underwriting and acquisitions, and asset dispositions. Prior to coming to Paces, Mr. Cables worked for Jamestown, a European real estate syndicator; Cornerstone Real Estate Advisors, the equity division of MassMutual, and The Landmarks Group, an Atlanta-based developer. Mr. Cables holds an undergraduate degree in business and an MBA degree from the University of Alabama and has been an entrepreneur in the residential development and construction business. He earned his CCIM designation in 2006. He is married with two children.
